Procedure
Fall Back 3
In the event of incorrect completion of the SNMP Agent Update Installation Phase, or a
problem with the new package, the package installed in FLASH can be deselected and
erased using the following procedure:
• Check the status of the FLASH:
• Consult the dwlpackage table: mgnt2DwlPackageTable
Location: ...\microsens\mgnt2\mgnt2SoftwareManagement\
This will display the packages resident in the FLASH:
(mgnt2DwlPackageFileName)
And which one is currently being used by the system (mgnt2ExtractedPack).
• Enable the required package by setting its associated:
• mgnt2SwitchTo
This extracts the new binaries to the flash-ram, overwriting the previous binaries.
This operation takes at least three minutes. Do not turn off the machine during
this time.
Progress indicator:
The value of:
mgnt2PackageExtractionInProgress
can be consulted to monitor the progress of the procedure. It is “on” during
extraction and returns to “off” on completion of the operation. After this
operation, the SNMP agent is updated, however it is necessary to reboot in order
for the system to start using this agent.
• Reset. See; Resets in Software Management Section.
• Erasure of unwanted packages:
• Set to one the value: mgnt2DeletePackageFromFlash associated with the
package to be erased.
If the package that you intend to erase from the FLASH is in use, i.e.:
mgnt2ExtractedPack = "two", this operation will have no effect. Erasure of a
package in use in prohibited.
End procedure
